Guidance: Apply to add a location to a consignor or consignee authorisation

If you’re already using your premises to start or end transit movements, you can apply to add more locations to your existing:

  • consignor authorisation
  • consignee authorisation

Adding locations

There’s no limit to the number of locations you can add. They do not need to be owned or operated by you, but you must have permission to use the location.

You can find out more about the types of premises you can use to start or end transit movements.

You must make sure that any new premises meet the conditions of your authorisation.

If you’re an authorised consignor

If you’re planning on expanding your business, you should check your guarantee reference amount before adding a location. This is to make sure your guarantee will cover the transit movements you plan on making from your new premises.

New authorised consignor premises are usually activated within 5 working days of HMRC receiving your application.

Check if you need to complete more than one form

If your new location will operate differently to your existing locations, you need to complete more than one form.
