Guidance: UK Trade Tariff: imports and community transport inwards

We have made changes to the declaration of goods under EU preference. The changes are in section ‘2.2 Trader identification’ at Box 15a, Box 34a, Box 36 Notes and Box 44.

This page has been updated to correct the appropriate abbreviations for Common Veterinary Entry Documents for Box 44.

Change to the procedure regarding the completion of a customs declaration for chemicals. The requirement to provide the precise name in accordance with British Standard 2774/1983 and insert the words “not listed” no longer apply. (DE 6/13 Import Tariff, DE 6/13 Export Tariff and paragraph 7.5 CHIEF Tariff).

Addition to full description of excise goods in Box 31 (CHIEF Vol3 Import Tariff).

‘Safety & Security Great Britain’ and ‘Import Control System Northern Ireland’ sections have been added.

Section 2.2 Trader Identification, Box 44 Item level data has been updated at Conformity Certificate (fruit and veg).

Sections 7.9, 7.11, 8.5 and 11.12 of this guidance have been updated to reflect changes to forms no longer in use as part of this service. Guidance on payment and deposit slips has been removed.

The C109 and C109A form has been removed from this guide.

First digit code 5 has been added to the table in section 2.2 Trader identification, under heading box 36.

Paragraphs 2.2, 2.10 including Option 1 have been updated.

Paragraph 2.4 under heading ‘Presentation of import declarations to HMRC’ shows new address for import declarations.

The Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade certificate item has been added to the Other government department licences and certificates list. The Import Control System (ICS) section has also been updated.

Guide amended for bulk consignment procedures for CPCs 40 00 003 and 49 00 003.

This guidance has been updated to reflect import and export legislation changes from 1 May 2016.
